English Language Teaching in Brazilian settings

“English Listening Lesson Library Online : Learn English Naturally!”

Elllo is a very useful teaching resource when it comes to oral comprehension practice. The site is a free listening activity database with hundreds of audio files featuring speakers of English around the world talking about a huge variety of subjects from fast food to ethics. You may find a Mongolian talk about vacations to an American and a Canadian compare Christmas traditions with a Sweddish girl. For written support, each audio file comes along with a script.

  1. Thank you for over a reference tool for pedagogical work. However, I need to devote more time to understand how to use it. As I commented in the Redefor forum, o Government offers courses in basic computer use, but I consider that it should invest in training teachers with the use of free media in support of quality education. No further sites have on hand that the teacher if he doesn’t know what to do with them due their disability in the subject. I need improve my side autodidact.

    • Oi, Jerusa! Que legal que tenha gostado da sugestão! O Elllo é super simples de se usar. Não chega a ser uma ferramenta. É apenas um site! Lá você escolhe um arquivo de áudio da lista e clica no botão “play” para ouvir e praticar listening. That’s about all.
